Anyone who’s browsed through this blog has seen that I like to combine my interest in Halloween with my interest in programming and electronics. This past May, I attended PyCon 2026 US (the annual python programming language convention). The conference include 5 minute “lightning talks.” I presented a lightning talk on using Python to customize Halloween props.
The talk included three of my projects:
- Pi-Based Multi-Prop Trigger — coordinated routines from one PIR
- ChatterPi — talking skulls, in Python
- Yorick the Mimic — wireless 3-axis skull control via motion capture
